Think comedy more complicated to process than drama, and demands you be utterly engaged in it. Don't want comedy dictated by the distracted.
@cookdandbombd I think Daniel Kitson referred to phone-glancing at comedy shows as "illuminating your boredom".
You can't watch a comedy show properly, AND tweet through it at the same time. You just can't. It's impossible.
@cookdandbombd Have you been to a gig lately? I don't go to gigs any more because of the floating phonescreens. It's like having a migraine.
All we're increasingly left with is a bunch of rubbish talent shows etc which people can make instant judgements on. Thanks, Twitter.
Now, as @SquidyUK points out, they put hashtags at the start of shows. How about actually immersing yourself in them, instead?
Disagree we're addicted to phones? Go to a cinema and sit at the back. Loads of twats hooked on little screens until the big one starts.
