You need to build a regional buzz & stand out, EVEN if you want a label to sign you. Your chance of discovery is less than winning a lottery
But if you want a CAREER in music, making music, you will need to stand out from other artists by promoting yourself, which costs money.
The music industry is not free. You got into it because you love music. So get a job & make music out of love! That's a great thing!!
