@revmagdalen I can see both sides, if it was based on one obscure law he should have the chance to fight it... but I'm not sure it was.
@irish0625 Wouldn't that make all trials take an incredibly long time, if judges had to enter as evidence the text of all laws during them?
@JosephSWhite I would think it's just common sense that of course they will be using the established law to consider the arguments made.
@JosephSWhite I mean during the course of the trial, do they have to say "when we consider this we're going to use the laws of the land"?
Does a court really have to specifically mention every law they're going to consider in making their verdict, or else it's not fair?
Isn't claiming the UK Supreme Court based its decision on a convention on treaties kind of like saying they based it on what laws say?
