I love to write. I love the entire process, for the most part. But make no mistake: it IS hard work. It's NOT easy. Don't expect it to be.
#writingtips If you have a day job you have to go to work. If you want to be a career writer, you put in the hours. Don't wait for the muse.
Don't burn your bridges. The old editor you bitch about online today may end up working for your current publisher tomorrow. BE PROFESSIONAL
#writingtips If you're blocked, chances are you got off track of your story. Go back to where it was flowing and see what happened.
#writingtips Listen to people talk. Conversation is NOT dialogue. Most 'conversation' isn't usable as dialogue.
#writingtips Ideas are everywhere. Get used to asking "What if..." "What if that odd man in the corner was really a serial killer?"
You know, it pisses me off. If you're going to go on a rampage, just put the gun in your own mouth first instead of taking out innocents.
